Introduction The Samsung LN37B550 LCD HDTV is a superior quality LCD television that is currently widely sought by home theater enthusiasts. This Samsung TV provides premium features and performance at a premium price. Today we will investigate if this TV lives up to the hype.
Features / Performance I wont spend a whole lot of time covering the features and performance of the Samsung LN37B550; because as far as those two areas are concerned, I dont think you can find anything better in a 37 inch television. The hype is true; it has incredible contrast ratio and response time, phenomenal picture clarity and depth, incredible color display and the list goes on and on. Performance is incredible. Picture quality is amazing and there is no ghosting or image blurring. There are no faults to be found. Likewise, it has every feature you will ever need in a TV of this size. It has more connection types than you need, produces great sound and connects to every external peripheral imaginable. So again, there are no shortcomings in terms of features.
But a few thoughts There is absolutely no doubt that this unit is fabulous. In spite of all those features, there are still aspects that might restrict people from buying it. I know it sounds odd. But, consider the reasons that I have to say.
Comparing with the other 37 inch and 42 inch 720p LD models, the price of this Samsung TV is much higher. You are definitely aware of my opinion on 1080p resolution TVs that are less than 50 inches. There is no difference of 1080p resolution and 720p resolution in a 37 inch TV at all. If any one finds any difference, then it would be just imagination rather real viewing experience.
If I consider the said facts, it is hard for me to find a price difference of more than $300 between the 720p and 1080p resolution versions. But, if you are pleased to pay more to just get 1080p for a 37 inch TV, then you are welcome to buy this unit.
